We love to inform people of the dynamic interior areas of the country highlighted by the fiery Arenal Volcano and tropical rainforest of the Northern Lowlands as well as the misty mountains of Monteverde, one of the most accessible cloud forest communities in the world.

The adventure begins with a drive through the central valley and through the verdant central highlands and ends at the base of Arenal Volcano, the perfect cone shaped Volcano has been erupting daily since 1968. Your time in Arenal will consist of adventure tour options such as Pure Trek Canyoning, hiking around the Volcano, white water rafting and visiting hot springs.

There are many milder activities as well such as walking along suspension bridges, visiting the Cano Negro wildlife refuge and a safari style boat ride in search of birds, monkeys, turtles, caimens, iguanas and more. With so many options we prefer to offer choices rather than a fixed selection therfore in our day by day descriptions we will include some of the options but you may add or remove tours to your itinerary.

In the Arenal area there are many hotel choices as well. Since we strongly believe that the highlight of Arenal area is the Volcano we will place you in a hotel with a view from your room. However at any given time some hotels will have a direct view of the active side of the Volcano while others will not. Over the past 3 years the Volcano has changed the direction of lava flow 4 times and it is likely to continue that trend over time. It is always possible to visit the active side of the volcano by vehicle.

After three nights in the Arenal Volcano you will have transport option on the way to the misty cloud forest of Monteverde either the taxi-boat-tax transfer or the taxi-boat-horse transfer both are unique ways to traverse the beautiful terrain but obviously the 3 hour horse ride is more adventurous and will take more time.

Once in Monteverde the epicenter of Costa Rica's eco tourism heritage we feel experiencing a guided tour at the Monteverde Reserve and a Sky Trek zip line tour is a must. Other outstanding an unique activities include a night walk, the butterfly garden as well as an trip to the Selvatura adventrure Park. After a few days in the cool mountain air of the Monteverde Cloud forest we will bring you to the Manuel Antonio area where you will encounter one of the most famous of beach and rain forest environments in the world with gorgeous green mountains spilling into the blue waters of the pacific. The conservation area of Manuel Antonio is one of the most important symbols of Costa Rica eco tourism.

There are a variety of activity options in Manuel Antonio including guided hikes of the Manuel Antonio National Park, sunset catamaran cruise, mangrove wildlife safari as well as white water rafting in the nearby Naranjo and Savegre rivers. One of the highlights of Manuel Antonio is the beautiful ocean views from many of the hilltop hotels.

From Manuel Antonio we will bring you back to SJO in time for your international departure or will bring you back the night before your early morning departure.
