Upon arrival to Costa Rica's Central Valley and the SJO international airport we will bring up through the famous coffee plantations lining the eastern slopes of the valley. We will wind our way past Poas Volcano and on to the La Paz Waterfall gardens where you will be staying at the Peace Lodge for two nights.

The Peace Lodge is a romantic and luxurious environment surrounded by beautiful rain forests, 5 cascading waterfalls and a variety of species exhibits including a butterfly garden, frog pond, serpentarium, orchid garden and hummingbird garden. It is a special place overflowing with vibrant life and a wonderful setting to be with the one you love.

After a couple of days at the Peace Lodge the journey will continue along the edges of the Valley and the foothils of the Tilaran Mountain range until arriving in the fertile Northern Lowlands and the inspiring Arenal Volcano.  The Arenal area offers more than one of the worlds most active Volcanos it is also has become the mecca of Adventure with Pure Trek Canyoning, hiking around the Volcano, white water rafting and visiting hot springs there is plenty to keep you active and excited. Besides the physically challangeing adventures there are milder activites as well such as walking along suspension bridges, visiting the Cano Negro wildlife refuge, a safari style boat ride in search of birds, monkeys, turtles, caimens, iguanas and more.

After a couple of days amidst the Volcano we can Manuel Antonio by ground (roughly 4 hours of travel time) or air transport (roughly 1 hour of travel time).  Once in Manuel Antonio you will encounter one of the most famous of beach and rain forest environments in the world with georgious green mountains spilling into the blue waters of the pacific. The conservation area of Manuel Antonio is one of the most important symbols of Costa Rica eco tourism.

There are a variety of activity options in Manuel Antonio including guided hikes of the Manuel Antonio National Park, sunset catamaran cruise, mangrove wildlife safari as well as white water rafting in the nearby Naranjo and Savegre rivers. One of the highlights of Manuel Antonio is the beautiful ocean views from many of the hilltop hotels.

Depending on your departure from SJO we will bring you back in time for your international flight or 1 day in advance to a nearby airport hotel for your early morning departure.
