Compact Car
Compact cars are by far the most economical rentals available in Costa Rica. They have the capacity to fit 5 people, assuming there is not an overwhelming amount of luggage. For visitors who plan on staying around San Jose or driving only on the main roads, a compact car is a great option. However, while compact cars are great for visiting some destinations in Costa Rica, they are ill equipped to handle dirt roads and mountainous terrain throughout much of the country.
