This tour explores the Corcovado National Park, which has often been described as the “crown jewel” of Costa Rica’s park system. Extending over a third of the Osa Peninsula, Corcovado is the largest park in Costa Rica. It preserves virgin lowland rainforests and provides habitat for a huge range of wildlife, including sloths, anteaters, sea turtles, jaguars, tapir, and all 4 species of monkeys present in the country. During this tour, you’ll have opportunities to spot a wide range of animals, so have your camera handy.

This tour departs from Puerto Jimenez. On the first day you’ll visit La Tarde, a rural eco-tourism project bordering the Corcovado National Park. After enjoying cookies and coffee, you’ll go for a walk along nearby trails—search for playful monkeys and colorful poison-dart frogs. After dinner, you’ll take a guided night hike and try to spot for nocturnal creatures alongside the trail. You’ll spend the night at La Tarde.

On the second day you’ll head towards Sirena Station. You’ll eat breakfast at La Tarde and be given a box lunch to eat in the afternoon. The first portion of this day’s hike is a 3-mile (5-km) walk to the Los Patos Station, where you’ll register with rangers in the Corcovado National Park. After registering, you’ll start the 13.5-mile (22-km) trek to Sirena Station. This long hike will take you deep into the rugged jungle of Corcovado, a part of the park that sees very few visitors. Once you reach Sirena, you’ll relax, eat dinner, and go to sleep.

You’ll spend the third day exploring the trails around Sirena Station. There is an optional early morning hike to the river followed by breakfast in the dining room. This day is leisurely and provides you with ample opportunities to photograph wildlife and get up-close views of the rainforest. In the afternoon, the tour group will depart for Drake Bay, which is where the tour concludes.

Important note: As per the Corovado National Park policies availability can only be provided one month before your travelling date.
