Cabinas Los Laureles

The park’s territory – most of which is stretches across the ocean rather than the land – is the site of the largest coral reef along Central America’s Pacific coast. Understandably, it is a spectacular place to scuba dive, snorkel, or swim. Furthermore, the park’s waters host migrating humpback whales from December to April, providing visitors with an excellent opportunity to see these beautiful creatures. Uvita is about a mile away (2 km), a slow-paced and tranquil town that sits along the shore of the Pacific Ocean. Its beach is clean and its waters are blue, making it an ideal place to relax. Kayak tours of the nearby mangroves and estuaries are popular, as are horseback rides and hikes to the area’s waterfalls.

Cabinas Los Laureles is a comfortable and basic hotel set under a mile from the beach and only 10 minutes from the Marino Ballena National Park. Accommodations consist of both cabins and individual rooms, all of which are stocked with new beds and private hot water bathrooms.
