Bahia Aventuras Combo Tour Details
Departing from Punta Uvita Beach, which lies along Costa Rica's gorgeous southern Pacific coast, this tour takes trippers deep into the Marino Ballena National Park. En route, stops are made at the famous Whale Tail Point, Ballena Island, Tres Hermanas Islets, and the Ventana Sea Caves.
The tour allows trippers to search for humpback and pilot whales, as well as three different species of dolphins. Imagine the excitement of watching a 40-ton whale slap its massive tail along the water, or the amazement at seeing sea turtles and dolphins swim alongside you while snorkeling. Visits to the coral and rock reefs allow tour members to explore the vibrant marine life of the Marino Ballena National Park, which - boasting more than 18 different species of coral reef - forms the largest coral reef on the Pacific side of Central America. Birders will likewise be pleased, as an astounding amount of avian diversity can be observed during the visits to the Tres Hermanas Islets and the Ventana Sea Caves. If the conditions are good, the boat's captain may even navigate through the caves' natural caverns.
The tour lasts 3-4 hours.

About Marino Ballena National Park
Encompassing 270 acres of land (110 terrestrial hectares) and 13,300 acres of ocean (5,400 marine hectares) is the Marino Ballena National Park (Parque Nacional Marino Ballena). Positioned just 10 mi (16 km) south of Dominical and 112 mi (180 km) southwest of San Jose, Marino Ballena is one of the newest national parks in Costa Rica. Established in 1990, the park contains the largest coral reef on the Pacific side of Central America. The park&s waters are also great vantage points for viewing the humpback whale as it migrates (Dec. to April) from as far away as Alaska and Hawaii down to Cano Island, just off of the Osa Peninsula.

"Tour was good, snorkeling was a bit murky but overall we had a good time. Nice way to see the coast from a different viewpoint."
