For a less crowded beach vacation, Uvita may be the ideal location. Sitting 11 miles (17 km) south of Dominical along Coastal Highway 34 (Costanera Sur), this tropical hamlet possesses great charm in an unspoiled, serene atmosphere. With palm trees swaying

"We asked for an off the beaten path beach and got it. The Bellana Park was great. This really was a treat for us. Others may not like that Uvita doesnt have much of a town area but the Whales Tail Lodge made up for it. We were happy to relax in the pool, have a couple of Imperials, and enjoy a great meal there. I would come back to Uvita."

"This was a nice quiet town, loved it. The beach was not crowded at all, we were almost the only ones there. The waterfall was quaint and a fun place to swim and hang out one afternoon. The people were so friendly and nice. We ate at the Soda Naranjita twice because the food was so good."

"Uvita is a very small village and to really enjoy the area, you need to have your own transportation. We did feel safe in this area. There are not too many tourists so it is very spacious. We suggest this area for water activities and nature lovers as well. All the locals we met were very hospitable and helpfull. We have enjoyed our experience in Uvita and your representation of this area was spot on."
