Adventure Inn Hotel Sustainability

Renewable Energy
Adventure Inn uses hydroelectric energy from nearby rivers that supplies about 82% of the hotel’s needs, providing electricity for lights, air-conditioning, computers, and pumps.

Energy Conservation
Energy efficient light bulbs in all rooms and bathrooms
Energy-efficient refrigerators, washers, and dryers
The hotel cut down on the number of outdoor lights and lowered the wattage

Water Conservation
Guest towels that are left on the towel rack are not washed, and the bed sheets are changed either once a week, when a guest leaves, or by request
Low-flow toilets in all bathrooms (maximum of 1.6 gallons/flush (6.06 liters))
Low-flow showerheads in all showers (maximum flow rates of 2.75 gallons/minute (10.4 liters))

Recycling Program
Adventure Inn has developed an integral recycling program with employees and guests. The hotel recycles glass, plastic, aluminum, paper, and garden compost. Bins are located throughout the hotel property and in the kitchen, public areas, and all guest accommodations.

Waste / Toxicity Reduction
Only durable and reusable drinking cups are provided
100% biodegradable soap (laundry detergent, dish soap, and hand/body soap)
Environment friendly cleaning agents

Community Programs / Charity

Adventure Inn makes financial donations to Ronald McDonald Foundation, and it has helped a local school to purchase books and other equipment. The hotel also pays for staff who want to take English lessons.

Additional Sustainability Steps
In each room guests can find a plaque hung talking about eco-tourism practices. In general, each guest is asked to try to minimize their footprint for the length of their stay.
