Land Conservation
La Quinta de Sarapiquí protects 8 acres of land. This corresponds to 80% of their property. In the area there are hiking trails and reforestation activities.
Recycling Program
La Quinta de Sarapiquí collects paper, aluminum, glass, and plastic for recycling as well as organic waste. The collection containers are located throughout the hotel and in the kitchen and bedrooms.
Waste / Toxicity Reduction
Shampoos, conditioners, and lotions are placed in re-usable containers and refilled
100% biodegradable soap (laundry detergent, dish soap, and hand/body soap)

Certification in Sustainable Tourism (CST), Level 3, 1997-2006 (Hotel is awaiting re-certification)
Community Programs / Charity
La Quinta de Sarapiquí makes annual financial donations to the Association of Environmental Welfare of Sarapiquí, Organization for Tropical Studies, and La Tirimbina Wildlife Refuge. Additionally, the hotel donates desks, chairs, educational materials, kitchen utensils, construction materials, and office equipment to several schools in the local community.
Additional Sustainability Steps
La Quinta Inn has its own organic garden that produces between 10 to 15% of the hotel's food.
