33 air conditioning units were replaced with a central VRV system, which sets a minimum temperature limit
Propane gas heaters were obtained to replace the old fuel boiler system
The lobby was remodeled, leaving open air entries to eliminate air conditioning
Water Conservation
Linens are not changed every day; guests are informed about the policy
Low-flow toilets in all bathrooms (max of 1.6 gallons/flush)
Low-flow sinks (max flow 2.75 gpm) and showerheads (max flow 2.75 gpm)
Dinning tables are set without table clothes
The hotel has an awareness program to promote water conservation in personal hygiene, room cleaning, and use of the dishwashers and laundry machines; it also includes the immediate correction of leaks.
Recycling Program
Hotel President's recycling program includes paper, glass, plastic, and aluminum. Collection bins are located throughout the hotel’s property. Eggshells and coffee brush are separated to produce organic fertilizer. Other food scraps are donated to a local pig farm. The kitchen oils are given to a company that produces biodiesel. Hotel Presidente is the founder of a project called Q-adra, which comprises 40 companies and institutions that have now implemented recycling programs and have created squads responsible for proper waste disposal in the community.
Waste / Toxicity Reduction
Shampoos, conditioners, and lotions are placed in re-usable containers and refilled
100% biodegradable soap (laundry detergent, dish soap, and hand/body soap)
Only biodegradable cleaning agents from EcoLab or CEK
Purchasing policies that prioritize biodegradable products, such as oxobiodegradables bags and packaging

Community Programs / Charity
Hotel Presidente makes monthly financial donations to Paniamor and ASONI, institutions for children's care. Charitable donations of equipment are also made to the Children's Hospital, Red Cross, and the police. The hotel also encourages staff participation in community programs.
