Spanning 14,084 hectares (34,800 acres), Rincon de La Vieja National Park has pristine tropical dry forests, waterfalls, and hot springs. Your guide can tell you about the incredible variety of plants and animals that call this park home. This hike includes stops at panoramic vistas where you’ll get an idea of the vastness of the park, all while keeping a safe distance from the openings of the volcano.
Rincón de la Vieja Volcano is an active volcano, with 9 distinct cones. Along the trail, you’ll see mud pools and streams with pockets of boiling water. Openings called fumaroles serve as vents for volcanic gasses, which create a stream of bubbles.
Hiking trails cover irregular terrain, so participants should be in relatively good health. This tour includes a break in Liberia City for lunch and shopping.
