"Instead of signing up for the full day tours which were pricey, we opted to take their in house " transportation ". What an experience! We rode a big old yellow school bus with the staff or all alone. We saw the park, waterfall, hot pools and the mud spa all in one day! It was a day to remember. Fantastic!"

Hotel Guachipelin
For the adventurer, there are many activities in the area such as horseback riding, the Canyon canopy tour, Rio Negro Tubing Adventure, bird watching, and trekking to the active craters of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano.
Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin is truly an eco-tourism lodge for adventure travelers and nature lovers. The hotel is surrounded by lush gardens with native trees, exotic flowers and many types of birds. From the hotel you&ll find views of both the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and the Pacific Ocean. The property is comprised of 1,600 hectares of land, most of which is reserved. The property owners also raise cattle and horses on-site.
The restaurant combines typical national dishes with international cuisine. The refreshing swimming pool is filled with natural spring water that originates from the nearby volcano. You can order some snacks and your favorite drinks at the bar and dance to live marimba music at night. The Hacienda offers 50 rooms, all with private bathrooms and hot water. From your room, you can enjoy views of the volcano.

"Good hotel - only there for the night. We made sure to take advantage of the hot springs and mud bath that were included with the hotel, which was an added bonus for us."
