El Sol Papagayo is located directly off Playa Panama, in the Gulf of Papagayo. Stretching over a mile long, this beach offers a beautiful color contrast between the slate grey sand and blue waters. The currents are mild and the tide stays relatively low, making it a great beach for swimmers and sun worshippers, alike.
Thirty minutes from Playa Panama lies Daniel Oduber International Airport and the town of Liberia, where you can find an abundance of conveniences. Playa Hermosa and Playa Coco are just a five minute ride from the resort. These two beach towns offer a wide variety of restaurants, bars, stores and services.
El Sol Papagayo is known for its fine attention to detail, which is noticed in the lush green gardens. Walkways are interspersed with beautiful tile work and statues made by local artisans. At night the walkways are lit, further accentuating the beauty of the local flora and fauna.
Guests have a choice of two restaurants, Rancho and Jacaranda, as well as two bars, Coconut and Chorotega. Rancho offers a wonderful variety of international dishes and is served buffet style and Jacaranda offers a la carte dining, specializing in French cuisine. The two bars, one conveniently located on the beach, serve a variety of local drinks and cocktails.

Space and privacy were carefully considered in the layout of the hotel, thus allowing for an intimate and tranquil feel. The junior suites have sunken living rooms, a terrace, hot water, TV, ceiling fans, refrigerator and two queen or one king size bed.
