Rooms have two full size beds, cable TV, a private bath with hot water, AC and a balcony. Mini-suites have a king size bed, small breakfast area, fridge, a big sofa and a kitchenette. The apartment suites come with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, full and twin size beds, a living and dining room and a fully equipped kitchen.
Property and staff great very relaxing
The staff were very helpful, even lending us beach towels. The hotel is 100 yards from the beach and very close to a small grocery store. The kids loved the pool. Lots of beautiful plants in the garden. The beds are firm, but comfortable. The breakfast is very good and filling.
Hotel Mangaby is a fairly small, family run hotel, set on two floors, in the centre of Playa Hermosa, which is a small community on the beach. Don't come here if you are looking for night life, it doesn't happen! The hotel itself is very clean and comfortable with a pool and restaurant, as well as a barbeque area if you wish to cook your own. I believe that breakfast was included if you had one of the standard rooms. We had a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment/suite which came with a very well equipped kitchen and dining area. Both bedrooms had TV, A/C and safe, but as would seem to be the norm with Costa Rica were very dark, even with the lights on. One bedroom had on suite bathroom which made the room smaller, so a combination of small and dark, not a good one. Perhaps if we had, had a room upstairs it might have been lighter. The bathrooms were well equipped with towels, shower gel, soap etc. The pool was lovely (especially as we had it all to ourselves most of the time) and was set next to the restaurant, which was very convenient.
