Phidjie Lodge

The Phidjie Lodge is located on the South Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, in the charming village of Ojochal. This area sees less tourists than other parts of Costa Rica, but is no less spectacular than the country´s hotspots. It abounds in natural beauty and provides visitors with an ample amount of activity.
Ojochal is a small and authentic Costa Rican town that is loved by both ticos and foreigners alike. Basic amenities and services are provided, but the real draw for visitors to this area is undoubtedly the natural surroundings. The town itself is set a bit back from the coast, protected by forested mountains. These fertile forests merge into immaculate, virtually uninhabited beaches that line the Pacific Coast. The sea here is renowned for its multicolored sunsets, and provides a nice location for swimming, sport fishing, and diving. Trips to the Nauyaca Waterfalls - described by some as being the best waterfalls in the entire country - are easy and pleasant. Also popular are boat trips up the R?o Terraba, hiking through nearby parks, kayaking, horseback riding, and leisurely strolls along the beach.
This charming bed and breakfast opened in December of 2007. The lodge?s grounds are rich and exceptional, with a variety of flora and fauna that will delight all who choose to stay here. The accommodations consist of several fully equipped, self-contained bungalows. Each bungalow is cozy, sleeping between 1-2 people, and includes a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. The bungalows also have several small sitting areas, large windows, closets, and private bathrooms. Although guests of the Phidjie Lodge may choose to spend their time idling on the beach, there is a pleasant heart-shaped swimming pool that guests are invited to take a dip in. It is cool, clear, and surrounded by tables, chairs, and large tropical plants. The French couple who runs the place is very friendly, and can help with renting vehicles or organizing tours.
