Cloud Forest Lodge
The Cloud Forest Lodge is a peaceful, quiet sanctuary in Monteverde, situated on about 70 acres of primary and secondary forest and alive with the chorus of birds and howler monkeys. Walk along the miles of trails around the lodge or spend a lazy afternoon in the sitting area with a TV. Indulge in the impressive view of the cloud forest from your table in the restaurant which serves typical Costa Rican food, or simply enjoy a cocktail from the bar.

Come and admire the colorful and unique species of frogs at the Frog Pond, butterflies at the Butterfly Garden or orchids at the Orchid Garden. Gaze at the splendid rainforest through a series of wonderful suspension bridges connected to beautiful nature trails. Visit the Monteverde Cheese Factory and learn about its cheese production process started by the local Quaker Community.
The lodge has separate cabins offering bungalow style bedrooms with private bathrooms with hot water. They offer either a King size bed, a King bed and a single bed or a Queen size bed and a bunk bed. All rooms also include a patio from which you may appreciate the tranquil beauty of the surrounding gardens and forest.
Hands down the friendliest, most helpful staff. Between that and the hiking on site, natural surroundings, epic views and great food we really enjoyed our days here. While we loved this romantic remote getaway we hardly slept. The bed was uncomfortable and creaked and the tin roof amplified the rain and wind which also kept us awake. If the rooms were updated we would love to stay here again.
The cabin was exactly what we expected. A little rustic. It was very clean. The grounds were beautiful. The trails on the grounds were great. The food was wonderful; including the breakfast. It was the best coffee and home made food. The staff was helpful and friendly. We were very very pleased.
Highly recommend this place. Of all the places we stayed, they had the best food. Quiet and serene. Great staff!
