Shampoos, conditioners, and lotions are placed in reusable containers and refilled

No swimming pool
Land Conservation
Terra Viva protects 180 acres of forest, representing 60% of its property. The land is kept as a biological private reserve.
Community Programs / Charity
Terra Viva makes monthly donations to the community for local road maintenance. They also donate time to the Monteverde Milk Producers Association, Monteverde Friends School, local municipality, and the Monteverde Cheese Factory Committee.
Additional Sustainability Steps
Terra Viva has its own gardens that produce about 30% of the hotel's food, and it has made significant efforts to serve local organic food. The hotel's wood construction and furniture was made from fallen trees on the property.
