While in the area, be sure to enjoy the butterfly gardens and insect museums for a closer look at the little creatures that call this area home. Also great to visit is the Serpentarium, which houses some of the most common snakes in the country as well as the Frog Pond with its varied collection of frogs. For an adrenaline rush, try the canopy tour or an off-road ATV tour through rivers and mountain trails.

Las Orquideas is a small, family run hotel with eight quaint rooms. Views from the hotel include a dry, intermediate and wet forest, two large waterfalls, the Pacific coast and the Nicoya Peninsula.
