Gray water is treated and then used to irrigate gardens and wash sidewalks
Signs in the rooms encourage the reuse of towels and linens
Low-flow sinks in all bathrooms (max flow 2.75 gpm)

Land Conservation
Hotel Heliconia protects approximately 24 acres of land, which represents 40% of its property. No activities are carried out in the protected area.

Recycling Program
Hotel Heliconia collects paper, glass, plastic and aluminum for recycling. Organic waste is used to produce compost. Collection bins are located throughout the hotel’s property and in the kitchen and guest rooms.

Waste / Toxicity Reduction
Only durable and reusable drinking cups are provided
Shampoos, conditioners, and lotions are placed in re-usable containers and refilled
100% biodegradable soap (laundry detergent, dish soap, and hand/body soap)
Environment friendly cleaning agents
No swimming pool
