At the hotel's private biological reserve, guests can follow trails through the forest offering sightings of white-faced monkeys, spider monkeys, sloths and birds of many colors. Right next to the hotel is the Puerto Escondido restaurant, offering a variety of tropical and international dishes. Visitors can play billiards and enjoy drinks from the bar. Hotel Espadilla is a nice two-story building with rooms overlooking the private biological reserve. There are standard rooms, efficiency rooms, and junior suites. All are equipped with private bathrooms with hot water, cable TV and AC.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Walking paths in jungle right from hotel. Beautiful room. The best buffet breakfast of the entire trip. Nice pool area. Monkeys come through the property routinely. Great location - 1 minute to beach and 1 minute to national park.
Hotel Playa Espadilla was well situated and close to everything. We enjoyed our stay there. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They also had their own private trail in their backyard so we were able to go hiking. The rooms included a kitchen with microwave which was nice since we were able to heat up our leftovers.
