Mango Moon Hotel
The Mango Moon is located in Manuel Antonio along Costa Rica’s Central Pacific coast, perched upon a hilltop between the entrance of the Manuel Antonio National Park and the fishing town of Quepos. This area is known for its spectacular beauty, diverse wildlife, and wide array of activities.
Manuel Antonio is a premier Costa Rican destination that boasts gorgeous nature and wildlife, wonderful shops and restaurants, and tons of activity. The thick jungle foliage of the Manuel Antonio National Park spreads to the edge of beautiful, white-sand beaches and the mighty Pacific Ocean. The park is easy to access and popular among nature lovers, honeymooners, and adrenaline junkies alike. There are all sorts of nature trails, waterfalls, rivers, mangroves, and wildlife – with everything from monkeys to birds to sloths – scattered throughout the park. There are canopy-tours, horseback trips, and rafting excursions that visitors can enjoy as well. Beaches abide and are often good for surfing and snorkeling. The port town of Quepos is a fine place to fish for Tuna, Marlin, or Sailfish out in the ocean, and also offers excellent restaurants and bars, small boutiques and surf shops.
The Mango Moon is small, with accommodations that are comfortable and casual, and a staff that is helpful and friendly. The décor is informal yet elegant, with rooms that are clean and spaciously arranged. Many have their own balcony or else share a balcony that looks out to the majestic ocean. There are special “family suites” located higher up, which have connecting rooms. However, don’t be duped by the name of these suites – the Mango Moon doesn’t allow small children to stay at the hotel. This is, perhaps, to reinforce the tranquil atmosphere that the hotel has created.
There is a bar on the ground level where guests can watch the sea roll endlessly and spot monkeys in nearby trees, all while tropical birds provide a natural soundtrack. Every morning, breakfast is served along the hotel’s veranda, combining tasty food with a cool ocean breeze. The beach lies at the foot of the Mango Moon and spreads across the city, dotted with colorful restaurants that overlook the ocean. There is also the hotel’s so-called “infinity pool,” which guests can dip into if the ocean is rough or the weather poor, and a spa where deep tissue massages are offered. Indeed, sleep comes naturally at the Mango Moon, as relaxation and comfort blend with the ocean’s soft swells and sound of the jungle.
