Hotel Plinio
The Hotel Plinio is laced into Manuel Antonio, a vibrant and beautiful area along Costa Rica’s Central Pacific coast. The Manuel Antonio National Park is found here, renowned for its untouched nature and active wildlife, while the fishing town of Quepos is a mere seven minutes away.
There is a large amount of things to do in this destination. Visit Manuel Antonio’s attractive beach then head into the park for some exploring. There is white-water rafting, bird watching, horseback trips, and canopy tours available. Visitors can explore the park on their own on one of the many hiking trails, perhaps pausing for a few hours to relax on one of the park’s four beaches. The Pacific Ocean shimmers nearby, great for snorkeling, sea kayaking, surfing, or even jet skiing. The town of Quepos is best known for its sport-fishing and wide assortment of boutiques, restaurants, and bars.
Built into the lush hillside that surrounds it, the Hotel Plinio feels more like a tree house than hotel. The rooms are airy and charming, featuring polished hardwood floors and ceilings, with certain rooms employing tree trunks to support the architecture. There is a fine pool where, if you sit quietly, you can hear frogs and other wildlife making calls into the jungle night. The hotel runs a tasty restaurant that specializes in Indian and Thai cuisine, and also offers a wide variety of seafood options as well.
Although the Hotel Plinio is close to the renowned Manuel Antonio National Park, the Plinio maintains its own private park as well, acting as both a wildlife refuge and a place for guests to explore. There are 15 kilometers of nature trails running through the park’s lush forest, housing such animals as Howler monkeys, White-Faced monkeys, sloths, Poison-Dart frogs, and a variety of birds. There is even a 50-ft observational tower built near the top of the park, which offers great ocean views atop the canopy of trees.
