Manuel Antonio, where you can dine at some ocean view restaurants and bars as well as browse through shops, is a beautiful beach town with one of the country most renowned national parks. To get to Manuel Antonio one must pass through the town of Quepos, offering a bigger town center with lots of food and store choices as well as live music.

The Quepos area is a sport fishing mecca that boasts an abundance of Sailfish, Marlin, Yellow Fin Tuna, Dorado, and Amberjack. Wildlife enthusiasts will enjoy boat tours of Isla Damas, a mangrove swamp just north of Quepos. Hiking, bird-watching, swimming and snorkeling are all popular pursuits in Manuel Antonio National Park.

Hotel Costa Verde is located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific beaches and has thirty acres of untouched land that serves as a natural corridor for native wildlife foraging between the national park and the beach. There are two cliffside pools with sundecks and the spacious rooms with balconies all offer a birds-eye view of the parks coastline and rainforest canopy. Dine in any one of the three restaurants: Anaconda, serving typical and international foods; La Cantina BBQ and Bar, featuring live music; or El Avion, where you can enjoy a cocktail inside the famous air carrier or dine on the ocean view deck.

Hotel Costa Verde offers spacious apartments planned for two distinct types of vacation accommodations: air conditioned apartments with cable TV and Costa Verde II, a special group of 15 studios designed exclusively for couples. The studios have an open-air design, with no air conditioning, glass windows or TV. Each area has its own swimming pool, special ambiance and views.

Guest Comments and Ratings for Hotel Costa Verde

"HUGE, Very nice pool, trails on the property, open air rooms. This is a place to relax and enjoy nature. No tv in the room, so if you want to be couch potato don't go. We were awaken to the sounds of monkeys on the roof and watched them peeking into our room (: We were on the top floor and although it said garden view we could also see the ocean. I would definitely recommend the garden view. The local birds and monkeys were wonderful to see. The room had a full kitchen and dining room, and the nearby restaurants were quite expensive. We cooked breakfast in our room had coffee and breakfast with a good book (and a camera) out on the balcony. We walked in both directions from the hotel and enjoyed them equally. The beach was not a bad walk and we also did a quided tour of the park. We would likely not have seen a thing (except monkeys) without the guide. Again the local food near the park was a bit better then if you walked more toward the city, but there were some nice views from restaurants perched over the ocean" Guest stayed Nov 2010

"Loved the views and all the animals visable right from our room. Spacious rooms and balconies." Guest stayed Feb 2011

"Really liked the view from the studio. the staff were very freindly and helpful. Liked the area and the trip to Manuel Antonia was great. We saw so many different animals, it was like being in a zoo but without the cages. Water was fantastic for swiming and really liked the beachs." Guest stayed Jan 2011

"Loved this hotel and loved the staff" Guest stayed Jan 2011

"Loved the hotel. It was a little far from the beach but the bus was easy to use. It was clean and airy which I loved the no windows! Again this hotel exceeded our expectations. " Guest stayed Feb 2011

"Great ocean view and just a beautiful place, Loved the pool and bar area and the food at the anaconda restaurant was out of this world. Loved it, loved it. Our room in section e was quite a hike to the pool and reception area since was didn't have a car." Guest stayed Mar 2011

"This hotel was so fun! GORGEOUS adult only pool, and we had a beautiful ocean view from our room, too!" Guest stayed Mar 2011

"Beyond awesome we were extremely happy. Great view, beautiful setting " Guest stayed Feb 2011

"Only issue was that the web site showed air conditioning, however we were in Costa Verde II which has open air screened rooms. We were apprehensive at first, but the ocean breeze with the ceiling fans were all that we needed. The sound of the surf at night was mesmerizing and the view from the balcony, well million dollar view just scratches the surface!" Guest stayed Jun 2011

"Very nice property! Room was beautiful, but it was very warm. The windows were suppose to preclude the need for an air conditioner, they did not. I would stay there again, but only in a room with an AC." Guest stayed May 2011

"We had a panaramic view of the ocean. Monkeys everywhere, including on our balcony. Resident sloth just outside reception. I will definitely stay here again." Guest stayed Jun 2011

"This is probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in. No windows, just screens, the sound of the rainforest right outside and the view was incredible. Incredible!" Guest stayed Jun 2011

"Had a great time at Costa Verde." Guest stayed Jul 2011

"The monkeys came to the motel in the morning which made the children very happy. The motel was great." Guest stayed Jul 2011

"The hotel was amazing. There were not very many other guests, so we felt very secluded, which was perfect. They even gave us a free upgrade to a bigger room with a private ocean-view balcony! We loved all of the wildlife we were able to see from our room and around the hotel grounds. It was very nice to have good restaurants on site, too." Guest stayed Oct 2011

"Loved this place and would stay there again. It was prior to Christmas and they weren't full so upgraded us to a beautiful room." Guest stayed Dec 2011

"Wow, how cute was my room? It was like a living in a tree house. The accommodations were great a little efficiency room with a stove, frig, dishes etc. a beautiful porch with a table and four rocking chairs. The restaurant staff was great. Eating breakfast and watching the monkeys passed by every morning pure Costa Rica. I want to say thank you to your desk staff, I was having a hard time signing on to my email, they tried to help me with little success. They finally allowed me to use one of the computers in the office to send my message. It was quite urgent as it had to do with my departing flight. They went above and beyond to help me and I appreciate it very much." Guest stayed Sep 2011

"Our favorite view" Guest stayed Dec 2011

"Really, really great. The experience was so unique that we were unbothered by the two toilet backups and leaks in teh ceiling during a heavy rain. We also lost hot water for about a day. We liked the two outdoor decks constructed one on each side of the plane. Three queen beds split between two separate bedrooms was nice--hotels typically don't have this kind of capacity. While the imperfections of this unique suite would have greatly bothered most, to us they ended up being more of a minor nuissance in consideration of the chance to experience this unique setup." "Our stay at the Hotel Costa Verde was also excellent. Although it was more like a “resort”, it was still very quiet and the views of the ocean were magnificent. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed the options of 3 swimming pools as well as the ocean." Guest stayed Mar 2012
