Esquinas Rainforest Lodge protects a total of 24 acres, which represents 80% of its property. This area consists of mainly secondary forest.
Recycling Program
The recycling program of Esquinas Rainforest Lodge includes the collection of plastic, aluminum, glass, paper, batteries, and organic waste. The collection containers are located throughout the hotel and in the kitchen and guest rooms.

Community Programs / Charity
Esquinas Rainforest Lodge makes annual financial donations to the Nature Conservancy, Fundación Corcovado, and the Ministry of Environment and Energy. It also contributes to development projects in the community of La Gamba. In 2005, Esquinas Lodge created La Gamba Fund to support community projects. These projects have included restoration of the water system, school infrastructure, town hall, and health station, as well as construction of a town police station.
