Orosi Lodge is a small hotel located in the town of Orosi, part of Costa Rica's Central Valley. Situated one hour east of San Jose, Orosi is a colonial town with plenty of charm and culture, and is home to the oldest church in all of Costa Rica. Whitewater rafting, hiking, trout fishing and swimming are just a few of the activities available in Orosi, not to mention the two volcanic hot springs that lay in the center of town.

With rainforests, volcanoes and hills, the Orosi Valley offers some of the richest scenery in Costa Rica. The volcanic soil in the area has made Orosi a center for agriculture; the town is considered to be the highest quality coffee producer in the country. Bordering the town is the Tapanti Rainforest Reserve, a stronghold for endangered species such as the Baird's tapir and the jaguar. The reserve offers visitors a network of gentle hiking trails to try out. The Reventazón River winds through the steep-sided valley and collects in Cachi Lake, where visitors can enjoy a boat trip or try their hand at trout fishing. The town also enjoys proximity to Irazú Volcano, the highest active volcano in Costa Rica.

Costa Rica "EI Valle de" Orosi Lodge is a charming colonial-style hotel that enjoys an excellent location next to the villages' two thermal hot springs. The lodge's spacious rooms are equipped with a queen size orthopedic bed, private hot water bathroom, ceiling fan, mini-bar, and coffee maker with complimentary organic coffee. Additionally, all are equipped with private terraces which offer stunning views of the Irazú Volcano. The lodge also has a newly built chalet that can sleep up to five guests. The chalet comes equipped with a full kitchen, living and dining area, private hot water bathroom, and a rooftop terrace with views of Irazú. Every room at Orosi Lodge is beautifully appointed with honey-hued wood furniture and clean, simple decor.

Furthermore, the lodge runs its own coffee shop, which offers fresh organic coffee, as well as several breakfast and snack items. The cafe is decorated with paintings by local artists and has free wireless internet for its guests. The lodge also rents mountains bikes and canoes, and is happy to help facilitate activities such as whitewater rafting, fishing trips and guided hikes.

Note: the hotel's reception closes at 7:00PM, check in must be before this time.

Lovely spot, great views, friendly and efficient German hosts, great coffee. Need to have a rental car to enjoy the area but very worth the visit in this "off the beaten track" but beautiful area.
